Let me start with this. I was a Golden West Credit Union customer for over 35 years, maybe even longer as my parents set me up an account when I was a child and it was just utilized throughout my adult life. I had over 18k in disposable funds in my account and have had 2 home loans and 3 refinances done through Golder West, multiple car loans, etc. All of which were paid off early with no delinquencies. Now for the disappointing stuff. I am no longer a member or soon will no longer be a member due to the disrespectful approach trying to cash one $413.00. I received and insurance rebate check from State Farm and the first time I went to cash it they said I needed two signatures because it was made out to both my wife and me. I accepted my miss-understanding and had my wife sign it that night. The next day I went and tried to cash it they said I need my wife to be present. Now like I said I was a member for over 35 years with impeccable banking history and I also had over 18k in disposable funds in my account and they seemed to think I was trying to rip them off, made me feel like a criminal and was extremely ignorant to what all the history and my own back account was saying. I have noticed a drop off in customer serves over the years but it is beyond repair at this point. I would highly advise not using them at all as they really don’t understand what true customer loyalty is and just think you are some thug trying to make a quick 400 bucks off them.
